These are unique times for us. We are being given a chance to appreciate the mettle, poise and dignity of our senior Swamis, as well as the dedication of all who are committed to Amma’s mission in the world. It is also an opportunity to practice Amma’s teachings to accept both dirt and garlands (of flowers) with the same graceful poise.
“We are proud to belong here!”
All the people I have spoken to both Amritapuri residents and people from all across the world, have been telling me that because of this experience, they feel even more gratitude and devotion to Amma and are re-committing themselves to the spiritual path with more vigor and intent on the goal. One can also feel the solidarity and unity among us. We are proud to belong here!
Detractors may feel we are threatened or humiliated, but nothing can be further from the truth. As I look around in this paradise called Amritapuri at my fellow brother and sister flowers, all are blossoming in the brilliance and radiance of our sun, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.
